Dr. Denis Huang is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained surgical retina specialist. Born in New York and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Dr. Huang graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a degree in microbiology.
He went on to earn his medical degree from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia, where he first developed his passion for ophthalmology. Dr. Huang then moved to Sacramento for residency training at the UC Davis Eye Center. He subsequently completed a medical and surgical retina fellowship at the Cincinnati Eye Institute in partnership with the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
During fellowship, Dr. Huang served on the ocular trauma service where he taught ophthalmology and optometry residents and performed complex trauma surgery. He is excited to return to Sacramento and join RCMG, where he looks forward to caring for patients throughout the region.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Huang has a lifelong interest in music. He plays piano, viola, and the Chinese harp. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the outdoors and traveling with his family.
Dr. Huang is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
